It seems many video games today are filled with needless, gory violence and/or inappropriate content. What is a Christian teen supposed to do? Thankfully, there are many GOOD games out there. Some are great for the whole family to play together, and others are awesome solo adventures. And of course there's online (or wi-fi) play. There are games out there that you won't feel guilty playing and your parents won't object to you playing them. This site covers some of the best that are out there.

The Bible strictly forbids any killing of a human being.
I will not cover any shooters or fighting games(e. g. Halo, Mortal Kombat, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter, etc.)These game genres are chock full of blood, swearing, violence, and killing.

As a Christian, I believe it is wrong to
play such games as they liberally promote ungodly ethics.
You might think it's cool to play 'mature' games, thinking, "my friends do it, so it's OK, " or, "my games aren't going to affect my Christian life." But you're wrong. Let's look at each of these three excuses:
"It's cool to play mature games"- I don't get how it's cool to kill people. Would it be cool in real life? Cussing certainly is not cool. In my opinion it makes you sound stupid. The bible also forbids swearing and cursing, or cussing.
"My friends do it, so it's OK"- Peer pressure can be pretty harsh to deal with. But think, Jesus didn't give in to peer pressure, and he dealt with it about everyday from the people. Just because other people do it doesn't mean it's cool. My mom always says, "If he jumps off a bridge are you going to jump too?" Stand out for once.
"My games aren't going to affect my Christian life"- Everything we do has consequences. If we allow the wrong thoughts into our head, it could affect future decisions in a bad way. The wrong kinds of video games will allow the wrong ideas in our head. If we allow these kinds of video games around us long enough, we could begin to think violence or cussing is alright. In other words, 'mature' games can affect our Christian life.
You cannot be an honest Christian and allow such content into your mind.      James 4:7 says, "
Be subject therefore unto God; but resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
